Gallows Gallery

The Ceramic Arts Association of Western Australia
-  Annual Selective Exhibition -
13th July – 5th August, 2007

Its that time again!     The Ceramic Arts Association of W.A., Annual Selective Exhibition is coming soon to Gallows Gallery.

This exhibition features approximately 35 of W.A.’s most exciting ceramic artists, including amateurs and professionals, from Perth and regional areas.   An award of $1500 will be designated to the most outstanding piece (Kusnik award) according to guest judge, Janis Nedela, who will also nominate a small selection of winners for Judges choice awards.

Some of the previous winners of the major prize are:  Fleur Schell with her imaginative handbuilt porcelain sculptures of ‘Heidi’, Stewart Scambler for his highly tactile encrusted woodfired forms, Greg Crowe for his finely thrown and saltglazed spheres, Pippin Drysdale for her ethereal slender pots with delicate line tracing, and Sandra Black for her exquisitely pierced and carved porcelain bowls.  Many of whom are recognised nationally and internationally.

The CAAWA Annual Selective Exhibition inspires excellence in clay.  Works in stoneware, porcelain, earthenware, bone china and paperclay are included, ranging from traditional to funky, functional to experimental, subjected to all manner of firing techniques.  This event is the largest and the most diverse group exhibition of ceramic artists in Perth.

The majority of works in the exhibition are for sale, and we encourage the Perth audience to come and observe some of the finest ceramics being produced in W.A.!
