Gallows Gallery presents an exciting exhibition of new paintings by Alessandra Rossi  -  ‘Crowded House’.

‘Crowded House’ is a series of works that explore the many facets of family life, capturing the mood and activity of the universal phenomenon of a shared household.  Rossi uses her code of the figurative abstract style to describe the elusive nature of body language and implied communication.  Rossi is never shy of delving into the paradoxical states of the human condition.

Emotion and mood is conveyed with an intensity of vibrant colour and vigorous composition, which is synonymous with the artists’ work, whilst another style of delicate works in subtle tones with ambiguous linear drawings mark a diversion in Rossi’s approach.  Her application of oils on raw Belgian linen provides an enchanting contrast of textures, being metaphors of ethereality and tangibility.
