‘FIVE ANGLES' is a unique exhibition, featuring outstanding identities in Australian art – namely Bert Flugelman whose ‘Cones' sculpture at the National Gallery in Canberra is potentially the largest sculpture in Australia
(he is still actively making sculpture at the age of 82).
Ken Johnson also works in sculpture and is a former student of Bert Flugelman - at long last they are exhibiting together for the first time in ‘FIVE ANGLES'. Renowned as a painter, Johnson is a celebrated contemporary Australian artist, who has exhibited in Hong Kong, China, New York, Massachusetts, LA, Switzerland and all over Australia since 1970. Ken's work can be found in major international collections worldwide.
Peter Hickey is another fine Australian artist, he is a painter and printmaker of sublime skill. He has also exhibited broadly oveseas, and learned etching at Heatherly College in London and was a member of the British Printmakers Council, he studied and taught art in Japan and was Artist in Residence at the prestigious Kala Institute in Berkeley, California.
JJ Enstrom, an emerging painter and photographer and Helen Gauchat are exciting emerging talent, noticed by their mentors as promising future talent.
‘FIVE ANGLES' is a major event for Western Australia, crossing the cultural divide of east and west coasts of this great land. |
